Modern Warfare playlist update: Gunfight and Deathmatch Domination

the new modern warfare playlist update will include a new game mode, deathmatch domination, and a customised 2v2 gunfight. this will be available on all platforms on january 27, giving call of duty fans a new experience.

a new game mode

firstly, deathmatch domination brings together classic team deathmatch with domination. activision outlined the objective of deathmatch domination in a recent blog post. it was stated that players must “capture the flags and take down the enemies in [their] path and both will push the team to victory on the scoreboard.”

when playing this game mode, players should “focus on staying alive while holding objective areas to maximize your team’s chances of getting the win.” deathmatch domination also allows players to gain rewards for playing the objective and for getting kills. this will ensure all players have active involvement in playing the objective, creating an enjoyable and competitive experience.

a new gunfight experience

additionally, the playlist update will see a new twist to the fan favourite game mode, 2v2 gunfight. in traditional gunfight, players spawn with random loadouts. however, a new gunfight variant is coming where players are able to “choose the armaments that they bring into the firefight.”

ultimately, this gives players the freedom to create their own loadout and weapon type. moreover, this will add a new competitive element to the game mode as players can customise their play style, dependent on the map and the enemy.

with the first season of modern warfare set to finish on february 11, there will be a tier sale. from january 31 to february 3, individual tiers will be available to purchase. this will be active to ensure players can complete the season 1 battle pass before a new one comes out. individual tiers can be redeemed for a total of 100cp.
